How to configure the Glass Tube Purge Meter |
| Check for Accuracy |
These meters have an accuracy of 10% of Full Scale. If
you need 2%; you need the
Low Flow Meter |
| Length of Tube |
In position 6 enter "1" for 1-1/2" Tube or "3" for 3" Tube. Accuracy is the
same for either |
| Flow Range, Units and Capacity |
From either the
1-1/2" or the 3" table
select the desired flow and then put the two digit CODE in position 4, 5. In
position 3 put the code for the units: "A" = gph, "B" = ccm, "E" = sccm or scfh. For Liquid % use "C" and for
Gas % use "D"
Please contact us if you
need extra low flow (less than 0.1 gph, 30 ccm or 1.0 scfh) |
Liquid: ccm (cubic centimeters per
minute); gph (gallons per hour), or %. Standard is water
Gas: sccm standard cubic centimeters
per minutes; scfm (standard cubic feet per minute),or %. Standard is Air.
Special tubes are available, but they
are expensive and the delivery time is long. |
| O-Ring Material: |
For Buna-N or Viton put an "S" in position 7; for EPR
put "1"; for Kalrez put "K". Also, put a "3" in position
1 for viton or "2" for all others |
There are four materials for O-Rings: Buna-N, Viton, EPR, and Kalrez 4079.
Use the
Material Selection Guide for assistance. Buna-N and Viton are the
standard and are least expensive |
| Valves |
If no valve is required, put a "0" in position 2 and an
"X" in position 11. Under the CAPACITY column in the
1-1/2" or 3" Tube table select the type (knob
or slot)
which matches the CODE and put the value in position 2. In position 7 put "2" for
an inlet valve or "3" for an outlet valve |
The meters are available with or without a valve. The
valve can be on the inlet (typical for liquids) or the outlet (typical for
gases - although not a firm rule). The valves come in two types: "with Knob"
which has a standard knob for adjustment of the flow and "with Slot" which
has a screw driver slot covered by a cap - used when accidental adjustment
of the flow is of concern |
| Controllers |
From the
FLOW CONTROLLER table enter the alphabetic
character in position 9. Enter "X" if there is no controller |
Controllers which keep the flow constant with varying
pressure are available in brass or stainless steel and for the inlet and
outlet |
| Bezels |
In position 6 enter "X"
for no bezel, "1" if there is no control valve and "2" if there is a control
valve. |
Bezels are available for mounting the meter flush in a
panel
|
| Tagging |
In position 12, enter an
"X" for no tagging or a "1" for tagging |
Factory wired-on stainless steel tagging is available |
| Retainers |
In position 8,
enter an "S" for the standard kynar or a "1" for stainless steel |
For applications where is standard kynar retainer is
not acceptable, a 316 SS retainer can be provide. This also for a maximum
pressure of 250 psig and 250 ºF with viton and EPR O-Rings |
